Photo Essay - Exploring Belize's paradise
When it comes to travelling and choosing my next destination, I naturally tend to lean towards what I enjoy seeing: history, food, architecture, culture, etc, all play a big role in where I choose to travel to next.
One thing that I always enjoy doing, but oftentimes don't list as a major reason why I visit somewhere is the ability to rest & relax. No I'll never be the kind of person who enjoys going to all-inclusive resorts and doing nothing for a week, but I do enjoy going to the beach, swimming, relaxing, etc. Especially living in a place where that's not readily available every week, having the chance to have some "fun under the sun" is always a welcome thing.
When I do add this type of travel to my itinerary, I always try to make sure that it's part of a mix of cultural immersion & activities and my trip to Central America was no different. I won't get too far down that road as that's another blog post for another day, but this post is about some of the best memories I had when travelling down to Central America a few years ago.
We had about a week to stop through Belize and although we only visited some of Belize's islands, I had an unbelievable time down there. To keep things simple, I'll just say that we spent a week relaxing under the sun, enjoying some drinks, exploring two beautiful islands and generally living a life of paradise. Instead of explaining how great the two islands (Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker) were, I think showing the two islands firsthand is a better way to go. With that in mind, here is another photo essay showing what my time in Belize was like.
